finally colored...
i drew this one in may, finally inked it in june, and have been dicking around with the color ever since. i feel that it's either as good as it can get or just needs to be done, but either way i'm pretty happy with it i think. it was done across two pages of a 3x5 sketchbook. let me know what you think!

with the back of the axe?! ouch! brutal. looks pretty rad, did you color it traditionally or digitally? it's hard to tell cause of the texture.
also i just realized it /could/ be a double-side axe..

yeah, i kinda pictured it as a double sided axe, but i suppose it would be more badass just being the blunt end. i colored it digitally, using flats and about 5 texture layers on different sections. i found step-by-steps on sam bosma's blog to be particularly helpful.
